Default Rating system?

What a lot of the complaints on the forum I see are of other players being Exploitive, immature, mean, stupid, etc.

So why not put up a rating system, as suggested by some. But not just for trading, have it for different things too, like missions.

Think of this, each player has a couple numbers representing their Trade rating and Mission rating. Each time a trade is made, the players have an opportunity to rate eachother up or down. Same with missions. After each mission (or possibly quest), teammates have the opportunity to rate eachother up or down.

Now, I know that if we just go with an ebay style + and -, it can EASILY be abused by false ratings and spam for (LEAVE ME FEEDBACK OR ELSE!!!11one)

So how about this. Each player has 1 vote. After each mission with a teammate he can change his vote on that player to positive or negative. But he's only changing his 1 vote. He never gets more votes. So basically, any player's rating is the sum of all the individual player's votes on them.

Same with trading... If you see someone with a -10 vote, then you know that he has scammed at least 10 people. Or maybe have it as (rating)/(total votes)... so if you see 100/300 you know that about 100 people have voted him negative.

This system will help aleviate abuse of the game. People won't want to party with those that have very low ratings, so that person is exiled. Maybe have votes dissapear if they're not refreshed by the same player after a month or two.

The fact that each player only gets 1 vote ever will make the system harder to abuse. Because even if that scammer gets 2 friends to vote him up, that's only +2 and will easily be countered by 2 honest players that sees that he's cheating people...

Of course its not completely free of abuse, but it might solve more problems than it causes...

discuss.

prepare to be flamed LOL. I came up with a quiters rating idea that wouldnt effect those in PvE or those that lost connection and almost everyone was totally against it. It seems that grievers rights are more important than the others grouped with them.

you may be right, but then again, I believe I have proposed a relatively strong system that doesn't hurt the game. Anyways, I'm always open to hearing different opinions on the matter (better than no one responding and letting the thread drop to the depths of the forums)
